Me Too

Welcome to The Refuge “Me Too” page!

We are so glad you took the time to see what “Me Too” is all about.

“Me Too” is our way of saying that we understand how difficult life can be. In life we experience pain, sorrow, difficulties, disappointments, and hardships. You are not the only one, we have been there too. “Me Too” is a statement of love and concern. Each of us has experienced the challenges of living and we have some good news.

Our lives have been changed! We have experienced healing, forgiveness, and wholeness in ways we never thought possible. Have we “arrived”? No, we are all still in the process of change, but we do have joy, peace, contentment, and a deep sense of purpose.

You may be thinking, “That’s great, but what about me, is that available for ‘Me Too’?” Absolutely!

In the Bible we read about Jesus, the Son of God. He is often misrepresented and misunderstood. You may be thinking, “I am not interested in religion”, and to tell you the truth Jesus isn’t either (neither are we at The Refuge). Jesus didn’t die on the cross so we can have religion; He died for each of us so He can have a relationship with us. He wants to give you real life!

Jesus says this in the Bible, in the book of John:

“…My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10

Jesus Christ is so wonderful, so incredible, so loving that He took the first step to heal our broken lives. He is God, He did not have to come and die on the cross for us; He did this because He loves us and wants to give us a life really worth living now and then life forever with Him in heaven one day.

Think about how amazing this is, Jesus said “Me Too” before anyone else did. He tells us in His Word, the Bible, that He became like us and suffered in every way that we do. So, when He says “I understand”, He really does!

Your life can change right now; right where you are. All you have to do is tell Jesus you are sorry for the wrong things that you have done. We call these things sin. Then tell Him with your own heart and mouth that you believe He died on the cross for you and that you believe He rose from the dead. If you tell Him this, we call this praying. He will forgive you and give you a new life. Again, in the Bible we read:

“…anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Don’t you want this? I remember when someone talked to me about Jesus and how He could change my life. I thought “Me Too”, I want that, I want to be forgiven (nothing you have done is more powerful than His forgiveness), I want to have peace and joy instead of stress, anxiety, and anger.

It really happened! I prayed a prayer like the one at the bottom of this page over 27 years ago and Jesus Christ changed my life! I have never been the same. My life is wonderful and I am not afraid of death because I am absolutely sure that I am going to heaven.

You may think that this is just too easy. It is easy for us but it was not easy for Jesus. When He was nailed to the cross and died, He took on Himself the punishment for all of our sin; past, present, and future. There is nothing we can do to be forgiven and become one of God’s children except to believe in Jesus Christ and the great love he showed us by dying on the cross and rising from the dead.

Are you thinking “’Me Too’, I want to be forgiven, I want my life to change, I want to live for something that matters, I want to live in heaven with Jesus for eternity.” If you do, then pray this prayer from your heart to Jesus:

Jesus, I have sinned, I have done many wrong things and I am sorry, please forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me. I believe that you took my punishment that I deserved. I believe you died, I believe that you were buried, and I believe that you rose from the dead. Here is my life, take it and be my Lord. Amen.

If you prayed this and meant it, you just became a Christian. You are now part of God’s family! The Bible says that the angels in heaven are celebrating because you were lost but now you have been found by Jesus. Now that you are part of the family of God you need to be part of a church family where you can learn more about living for Jesus and find out what His plans for you are.

If you live in the Vicenza area we would love to have you attend The Refuge in Vicenza. See the contact page of this website for a map, address, and telephone number. When you come we want to give you a Bible as a gift from us to you.
